Deposit Insurance
Interactive Brokers has initiated internal restructuring measures in the wake of Brexit and in 2021 began to redistribute all European customers who have their permanent residence in the European Economic Area (EEA) to the newly established European branches.
Individual accounts will be opened by FXFlat through IB Hungary, while joint accounts will be opened through IB Ireland.
Furthermore, FXFlat will refer clients who reside outside the EEA to IB LLC. Please note that for customers within the EEA the IB LLC will not be accessible!
Comparison
FXFlat has the possibility to open accounts through three different branches (IBCE, IBIE and IBLLC) at Interactive Brokers. Therefore, the allocation of your brokerage account opening depends on both the account type and your permanent residence.
